If you want to be sure you drive Skyline Drive during the best possible color this fall, be sure to visit www.weather.com/outlook/driving/fallfoliage/regiondetail/va2. This map updates to tell you exactly what stage we’re in for color in the Shenandoah. When the color is at peak, our mountain view becomes golden and sunsets are especially special. If you can get away during the week we still have rooms available when peak color is predicted, end of October and early November.

According to NBC29 in Charlottesville the conditions are prime for great color this fall, even better color than last year.  Current predictions for sunny days in the 70’s and cool but not freezing nights in the 40’s provide the perfect conditions for peak fall color in late October into early November.  To hear the NBC coverage go to www.nbc29.com/story/15612717/fall-foliage-report
