The apple season is just beginning at Carter Mountain Orchard, located across from Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home.  Beginning early September the Golden Delicious apples should be ready to pick, followed in mid September by the Red Delicious.  Jonathan apples will also be available mid September as will pumpkins.  Different apple varieties will continue through early November.  For a complete listing of likely availability go to www.cartermountainorchard.com/about/fruit-availability-chart.
